Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 2025 · Effective immediately
The short version
Giget.ai does not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We use only essential browser storage (localStorage & sessionStorage) to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. No cookie banners, no ad networks, no data brokers.
1 What Are Cookies & Local Storage?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage and session storage are similar browser-based mechanisms that store data on your device.
Giget.ai primarily uses localStorage and sessionStorage — not traditional HTTP cookies — to manage your session. This means your login state is stored locally in your browser and sent to our servers only via secure request headers, not cookie headers.
2 What We Store & Why
| Key | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| gg_session | localStorage | Stores your encrypted session token to keep you logged in across browser restarts | Until you log out or session expires (30 days) |
| gg_user | localStorage | Caches basic profile info (display name, user ID, username) to avoid repeated API calls | Until you log out |
| gg_lang | localStorage | Remembers your language preference (e.g., en, es, fr) | Persistent until cleared |
| bf_pwa_shown | localStorage | Tracks whether the PWA install banner has been shown so it is not shown repeatedly | Persistent until cleared |
| sessionStorage | sessionStorage | Temporary data within a single browser tab (e.g., onboarding step, pre-fill values) | Cleared when tab is closed |
3 What We Do Not Use
4 Third-Party Services
Giget.ai uses a small number of external services that may set their own storage. We have selected these specifically for their privacy-first approaches:
Used only if you choose to sign in with Google. Google may set its own authentication cookies governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We request only your email and public profile.
Giget.ai runs on Cloudflare's edge network. Cloudflare may set a __cf_bm cookie for bot management. See Cloudflare's Cookie Policy.
We load CSS/icon libraries from CDN. These CDNs serve static files only and do not set tracking cookies.
5 How to Control or Clear Storage
You are in full control of your browser storage. Here is how to clear it:
6 Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because Giget.ai does not use non-essential cookies, a cookie consent banner is not required. However, your broader data rights still apply:
-
Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
-
Right to erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
-
Right to portability: Request an export of your data in a common format.
-
Right to object: Object to any processing of your data that is not strictly necessary for platform operation.
To exercise any of these rights, contact our support team.
7 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised date. Continued use of Giget.ai constitutes acceptance of any changes.
